On October 30, 2009 more than 200 people celebrated and supported the work of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross at our Shoreline Gala. The event was held at Wood Winds in Branford. The special focus of the evening was on Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces.
Jocelyn Maminta from WTNH News Channel 8 served as Emcee and Auctioneer Eric Hummel of Hummel Brothers presided over a spirited live auction. Another highlight of the evening was a chance to take home a beautiful diamond pendant provided by major sponsor, Tiffany & Co.
Among the presenters at the gala was Attorney General Dick Blumenthal, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, who helped to recognize Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces programs.
The evening raised $45,000 for the local work of the Red Cross.
