Imagine your family was suddenly left homeless, wondering where to
turn to find help. Each day our American Red Cross Family
Shelter and Transitional Housing programs work with people who have
become homeless. The services include emergency shelter,
housing, childcare, job skill training, life skills classes and other
basic needs. In addition, we also provide opportunities for the
children in our shelter through our teen center and weekly activities
for smaller children. Last year’s highlight has been the on-going art
classes for homeless children taught by local artist Megan Prescott.
The children’s art has been featured on
www.redcross.org and
exhibited at Russell Library in Middletown. |
