CPR
and First Aid require strenuous physical activity
and practice on both a partner and a manikin. New
CPR standards and training techniques require
prolonged kneeling and extended practice of rescue
breaths and chest compressions!
If you have a medical condition or disability which
could affect your participation in this training,
please consult with your physician before
registering. Successful skills practice is required
for certification.
-
The
American Red Cross follows Centers of Disease
Control (CDC) guidelines for the cleaning and
decontamination of manikins. According to the CDC
there has never been a documented case of any
infectious disease being transmitted through the use
of CPR training manikins.
-
To
receive course certification, you must attend all
sessions and pass all skill tests and written exams.
A minimum score of 80% is required on each section of
written exams.
