One out of every two people will need blood at some point during their lifetime.  We all expect blood to be there for us when it is needed, but barely a fraction of these who can give do.  Yet sooner or later virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood.  And that time, is all too often, unexpected.

All blood collected by the American Red Cross in Connecticut goes to the community blood supply, maintained by the American Red Cross Blood Services, Connecticut Region, for the benefit of anyone in need of blood or blood products at the state's 31 transfusing hospitals.
