
In the Belle View section of Alexandria, Virginia, flood waters from
the Potomac River forced residents to evacuate 900 condominiums. Many
retreated to a local Red Cross shelter. Officials estimated that it
would be one to three months before all the condominiums would again
be habitable. September 19, 2003.
