1.  Community First Aid & Safety

     Full Tuition:  $56.00
     Tuition for Modules:    Community CPR    - $47.00     Adult CPR         - $36.00

    This course is the most comprehensive First Aid & CPR course for the general public.
     Topics covered are:

    Community CPR & Community First Aid & Safety Certificates are issued upon the completion of
    course requirements.
  • To receive Adult CPR certification & First Aid - you must attend 1st & 3rd night & complete the course requirements
  • To receive Adult CPR certification - you must attend the 1st night only & complete the course requirements
  • To receive Community CPR certification - you must attend the 1st & 2nd night and complete the course requirements
  • To receive Infant/Child CPR certification - you must attend 1st & 2nd night and complete course requirements
  •    ALL CPR certificates are valid for 1 year     First Aid Certificate is valid for 3 years

    2.  CPR for the Professional Rescuer
         Tuition - $75.00
        This course is specialized training for individuals who have a job-related "duty to respond" to
         emergencies.  The course includes basic anatomy and medical/legal issues.  Participants learn
         how to recognize and provide care in respiratory and cardiac emergencies for adults, children
         and infants, with special emphasis on two-man rescuer CPR and the use of the resuscitation mask
         and bag-valve mask.  Techniques for minimizing the risk of disease transmission and for special
         rescue situations are included.  To receive certification you must attend the entire course as
         scheduled.

        A class will be scheduled in January, 2002.

    3.  CPR CHALLENGES - ALL LEVELS

        Tuition: Community CPR - $30.00        Professional CPR - $35.00
                     Adult CPR          -  $25.00       Infant/Child CPR  - $28.00

       No Books are included in tuition

       A competency test of SKILLS and WRITTEN KNOWLEDGE WITH NO allowance for review or
        practice with instructor will be given.  This is self study.

        Come prepared for skills and written exams. You must bring your own pocket mask if doing
        professional CPR.

        All CPR certificates are valid for 1 year

      4. CPR and FIRST AID REVIEW

        Tuition:  Community CPR - $35.00        Professional CPR - $40.00
                      Adult CPR          - $28.00        First Aid               - $28.00
                                          Infant/Child CPR - $33.00

        No Books are included             You must bring your own pocket mask for Professional CPR

        Pre-requisite:  Current certification in Adult, Infant/Child, Community, Professional
        CPR or First Aid

        Please bring or send in a copy of your current certification when registering.  There will be a
        review of skills, using videotapes, prior to skill exam.  Come prepared to take both written
        and skills exams.

       CPR certificate is valid for 1 year / FIRST AID certificate is valid for 3 years


    5. Connecticut Child Care              WE WILL BE SCHEDULING FOR 2002 VERY SOON
         Tuition:  $61.00                                   All classes are full for 2001

        This course teaches adults:

        It meets state training requirements for family and daycare center staff.  It is also appropriate for
        parents, grandparents and childcare givers.

        Upon the successful completion, you will receive: Infant/Child CPR and Connecticut Child Care
        Certificates.

        Infant/Child CPR certificate is valid for 1 year
       CT Child Care certificate is valid for 3 years

     

    6. Babysitting Classes

       Tuition $35.00

        This course teaches ages 11-15 how to care for children including:

        ALL CLASSES ARE FULL FOR 2001, WE WILL BE SCHEDULING MORE CLASSES SOON
     

        Students are requested to bring a lunch.  We have a refrigerator available for them to put their
        lunches in. An optional baby-sitters kit can be purchased for $13.50.  Kit includes flashlight,
        emergency phone number pad, small first aid supplies in a nylon briefcase style carry bag.
     

    7. Daytime Challenges
        Tuition $45.00 (Cash Only)

        For CPR given on a one to one basis.

    8. HIV/AIDS Education

        This program presents current information and statistics on HIV/AIDS.  It includes information
         on what AIDS is and how it is transmitted, and ways of prevention.

        Please call the Chapter (203) 874-2531 to request a session, as this class is scheduled on request.
     

    9.  Group Training

        The American Red Cross, Milford Chapter provides a variety of Health & Safety Training
        Programs for companies & organizations.  This training can be customized to meet the needs

    COURSE REGISTRATION FORM

    PRE-REGISTRATION is required for all courses

    PAYMENT:
    Payment must be made in advance by check, money order (payable to American Red Cross, Milford Chapter) or cash in order to secure your space for a course.

    You may register by mail by sending your non-refundable check or money order for the full amount of the course to: American Red Cross, Milford Chapter, 1 Plymouth Place, PO Box 390, Milford, CT 06460-0390.  Please call us to confirm your registration as we do not send out confirmations.

    You may register in person at the Chapter, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

    Textbooks need to be picked up prior to the start of the course. Call us for making arrangements for your text to be picked up.

    Most textbooks and written exams are available in Spanish.  Please contact the Chapter, in advance, if you require Spanish material.

    REFUNDS/TRANSFERS:
    Refunds/transfers will be made only if the Red Cross cancels the class due to
    lack of enrollment or inclement weather.

    COMPANIES SENDING EMPLOYEES:
    A company may enroll up to three (3) employees per class.

    COURSE INFORMATION:
    The practice sessions require strenuous activity. If you have a medical condition, check with your physician before registering. If you have an acute infectious condition (for example, a respiratory infection), please postpone your training until all symptoms are resolved. Remember to wear comfortable clothing, as skill practice is done on the floor.
