Every Thanksgiving, the Greenwich Red Cross provides 40-50 needy Greenwich families with a holiday meal. Local participating schools collect canned foods and deleiver donated goods to the Greenwich Red Cross during the week preceeding the Thanksgiving holiday. Red Cross volunteers, youth and adult, sort all donated food, assemble holiday packages, and deleiver the holiday packages to recipient families. Participating in the Red Cross Thanksgiving Food Drive is an excellent way for volunteers to contribute to a focused, group-oriented community service project.
