New!: The American Red Cross recently developed programs to meet the health and safety education needs of businesses.  These flexible and often modular courses and training sessions include First Aid, CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Education, HIV/AIDS education and Preventing Disease Transmission.  For more information about these programs, take a look at the National Red Cross Workplace Programs Site or contact the Greenwich Chapter at 203.869.8444.

The Red Cross develops programs in collaboration with experts from the fields of medicine and aquatics that reflect up-to-date information and techniques.  All courses are designed to teach the exact skills people need to know in an emergency.

Thanks to the efforts of the Greenwich Chapter, last year over 3,650 community members received training or education to help save lives.  The chapter provided emergency first aid standby services at 40 community events in which over 72,000 people participated, providing first aid to 72 individuals.

Also, 128 individuals received loans of basic medical equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers.
