We are the American Red Cross, Greenwich Chapter – young and young at heart, from all walks of life and different backgrounds as varied as the universe – yet firmly and voluntarily committed to the fulfillment of the mission that has made the Red Cross a respected organization throughout the world.  People helping people wherever catastrophe strikes – on the world stage certainly, but also here at home in our own community of Greenwich.

The Greenwich Chapter has served the local community and its surrounding towns including Old Greenwich, Byram, Cos Cob, Glenville and Riverside since 1914.  Currently, 972 volunteers and 12 paid staff members provide Red Cross services and programs in its jurisdiction of nearly 60,000 people.

Into the hands of dedicated Red Cross volunteers are entrusted the cares and concerns of all Greenwich citizens, and for more than eighty years we have met this challenge and will continue to do so in the future.  Greenwich can depend on the Red Cross to be at the forefront in responding to an emergency, in educating the public on disaster preparedness, and in promoting the health and safety of its people.

We of the Greenwich Chapter look forward not only to carrying on this honorable tradition but moreover to developing new initiatives that will make Greenwich a safe community and its citizens well-prepared to confront any adversity.
