Services Thanks to the efforts of the American Red Cross, last year over 3,650 community members received training or education to help save lives. The chapter provided emergency first aid standby services at 40 community events in which over 72,000 people participated, providing first aid to 72 individuals. At
37 local blood drives last year, the Greenwich community donated 2,113
units of life-saving blood with each unit helping up to three people.
In addition, volunteers made 20 emergency blood transport trips to
bolster supplies when Greenwich Hospital had people in critical need.
