This month’s Volunteer of the Month Award
recognizes an individual who supports Armed Forces Emergency
Services (AFES).
These dedicated volunteers are on call 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week, aiding military members and their families by
communicating emergency messages. We are pleased to present Mary
Jones with the Volunteer of the Month Award for outstanding service
as an AFES volunteer.
Mary has been diligently taking the AFES pager
since 1991. In the midst of the September 11th relief
efforts, she added to her responsibilities by assisting with Family
Welfare Inquiries (trying to locate missing relatives of local
families). She demonstrated sensitivity and compassion during every
interaction with clients. As a caseworker, Mary is currently working
with those same families to provide financial support or help meet
any of their other needs following the loss of a loved one.
Please join us in congratulating Mary on the
Volunteer of the Month Award and thanking her for her dedication to
Red Cross.
