observations as you travel. Do not go out of the way to
collect this information. Just remember what you see and
share it with the Disaster Assessment staff.

Essential Elements of Information |
| 1. What kind of damage has occurred and where
has it occurred (wires down, roofs off, etc.)? |
| 2. What caused the damage? Is it over? |
| 3. Where are dwellings damaged (including
apartments, trailers, etc.)? How many? How bad? |
| 4. What utilities are affected (power, gas, water, etc.)? |
| 5. Are communications systems working reliably
(phones, cell phones, TV, radio, Internet, etc.)? |
| 6. Where are roads closed? Why? Are detours marked?
