New Disaster Volunteer Workshop
Length: 2 -3 hours | 
Emergency Services trains and supports volunteers to effectively provide a variety of Red Cross services within our chapter, state, region or anywhere in the nation.  Depending on interests and abilities, disaster services volunteers can serve in one or more of three broad areas: Disaster Action Teams (DAT) – respond to residential fires and other limited disasters within our chapter’s jurisdiction;  Activity groups – trained to respond to local, state and regional disasters within a specific activity (Sheltering, Feeding, Disaster Assessment, Government Liaison, Logistics, and many more); National Responders (DSHR) – trained to respond in 1-3 activities in large disasters anywhere in the United States. There are leadership opportunities for those interested and qualified.  Some office support is also needed.  Attend an Emergency Services/Disaster Services Orientation learn about disaster response and training in our area.  Prerequisite: Orientation with Volunteer Resources.
