This instructor led class introduces disaster volunteers and members of the community to the role of the American Red Cross in the community’s actions in preparing for, responding to and recovering from disasters.This course will provide information on the mission of the Red Cross, the principles and values that support the mission and an overview of the opportunities available for volunteers to use their skills and abilities to strengthen the community. Prerequisite: None if you are only interested in seeing what the Red Cross does. If you want to volunteer with the Connecticut chapter please complete an orientation with Volunteer Resources prior to taking this class.
